Confinement: a psychological challenge for high-performance athletes
The Research Group in Sciences of Physical Activity and Sports has analyzed the abilities and psychological variables that facilitate the reduction of the negative effects of confinement by COVID-19 in high-performance athletes.
The study was carried out within the framework of the European research project ELIT-in (Integration of elit athletes into the labor market through the valorization of their transversal competences), which is coordinated by the University of the Balearic Islands and is financed by the Union European through the Erasmus + program. The researchers who have participated in the study are doctors Alexandre García Mas, Francisco Xavier Ponseti, Antonio Núñez and Federico Leguizamo, researchers from the GICAFE of the UIB; and Roberto Ruiz, Aurelio Olmedilla and Verónica López, from the University of Murcia.
